Crepe Myrtle II (seed series)

On the making of a Creype Myrtle seed head.

bloom cases with 6 spits.

the opening case with confetti stuffing.

the open pod

fully opened.

closing back like a clam

loosing petal

early fruit.

fall fruit

fall colors and emptied seed hulls.
These are from years gone by, but the Crepe's this year are WAY over the top. Cooler temps and rain and made for a Crepe fest.

This is some of the best botanical art I've seen. Thanks Kirk.

Kirk, little did you know that we were talking about you just last night with old mutual friends who haven't been in town for a long time....then D. Carroll out of the blue sends three links to us that are related to you and your work. Amazing little providences. I really enjoyed your photos on this site and probably will enjoy the other sites D. C. sent...just haven't had a chance to see them yet. This is nice work and no doubt will be of use as Stephen and I explore the fauna of OK this year since so many plants shown here also grow in OK. Thanks a lot. Greetings to you and your family. btw we're on Facebook, some of us Noells
