Gardenia Gallery

This is a recyle. Right on time with the years before, but it seems fewer flowers on the bush this year

Gardenia

or

Gardenia jasminoides(?)

Kingdom: Plantae
Division: Magnoliophyta
Class: Magnoliopsida
Order: Gentianales
Family: Rubiaceae
Genus: Gardenia

I have an idea that the Gardenia is not a native plant. To un-weed like.

The Gardenia is one of the most fragrant things God ever made. I think they created the perfume "White Shoulders" in response. It happens too, to be one of my favorite "tame" blooms. I see in it parts of rose, and daffodil, and lily, phlox, magnolia...etc. It is at once simple and complex.

And the bush in front of our house is on an uncanny timer. Every year. End of May a trickle, then early June -- EXPLODE. (with a follow up aftershock in late September)
